What is „Greek Weekend“?

Greek Weekend in Belgrade is an event aimed to present Greek cuisine, music and businesses, while strengthening traditionally good relations of Greece and Serbia.

The event is going to be held in Belgrade, in the spring: May 2016.

Why?

As the type of the event is a fair, it is a unique opportunity for exhibitors and sponsors to present themselves on one of the Balkan’s largest markets, in an original and appealing way.

This fair is a great chance to acquire new business contacts, conquer new markets, and also to showcase and sell products or services on the spot.

The event will include presentation and degustation of Greek gastronomic specialties and tourism offers as well as national music.

Event Background

Greek-Serbian relations have traditionally been friendly due to cultural and historical factors. Thus, many Serbs and Greeks usually refer to it as Serbian-Greek brotherhood and consider the other nation an ally and a brother-nation.

Greece is the top investor in Serbian economy. Event will develop further the above friendly relationship between Greek/Serbian companies.

Greek weekend is an event which will present Greece and Greek companies on main city square in Belgrade. It is going to be two days festival in front of thousands of people, in a very live atmosphere, with great media promotion. Event will present the best that is coming from Greece, as tourist offerings, culture, gastronomy and companies that are already present or want to be promoted and present in Serbian market.Serbian citizens select Greece as the most favorable tourist destination. Serbs feel comfortable with local food, music and the rest of products coming from Greece.

Goal of the Event

Gift from Greece to citizens of Belgrade and the promotion of culture and values that this event will help to strengthen the traditional ties between the Greeks and the Serbs
Promotion of Greek values, art, resorts, music and food with the main focus being on Greek national specialties
